The easiest ways to buy a Solana memecoin onchain or a supported meme cryptocurrency through Robinhood, with the differences explained plainly.

The short answer
Buying a memecoin is now straightforward, but Solana and Robinhood are different experiences. On Solana, you can search the exact contract address and swap an onchain token through a trading app or wallet. In the Robinhood app, you can buy only the cryptocurrencies Robinhood currently supports. Robinhood Wallet is a separate self-custody app that can access a wider onchain swap experience where routes are available.
The easy part is pressing Buy. The important part is confirming the exact asset, reviewing the quote, and using an amount you can afford to lose. Memecoins can move sharply and may become difficult or impossible to sell.
Fastest Solana route: use Fomo Family
Fomo Family is the simplest route when you want one multi-chain interface instead of managing several trading tools. Open Fomo with the link below, complete the available account and funding flow, then paste the full Solana contract address into search. Open the matching token, enter a small amount, review the quote, and confirm.
This page uses a clearly labelled Fomo referral link. If you use it, Cringe may receive a benefit at no additional cost to you. The link does not change the token, price, risk, or need to verify the contract yourself.
- Copy the full contract address from a source you trust.
- Confirm the result says Solana and that the contract matches character for character.
- Review liquidity, estimated output, price impact, slippage, and fees.
- Start small and keep enough SOL or available balance for the eventual sell.
Buy a listed memecoin in the Robinhood app
Robinhood is easiest when the meme cryptocurrency is already listed in your region. In the app, open Crypto, search for the asset, choose Buy, enter the dollar amount, review the order and submit it. Robinhood's supported-crypto page is the source of truth because availability can differ by asset, platform and jurisdiction.
The Robinhood app is not a universal contract-address terminal. If an arbitrary Solana token is not on Robinhood's supported list, pasting its contract address does not make it tradable there. Use an onchain Solana route instead.
Use Robinhood Wallet for onchain swaps
Robinhood Wallet is separate from the custodial Robinhood app. It is a self-custody wallet, which means you control the recovery phrase and are responsible for keeping it safe. Robinhood says the wallet supports sending and receiving on Solana and can swap Solana assets supported by its routing provider.
In Robinhood Wallet, choose Buy or Swap, select the Solana network, find the token using its exact contract address when supported, enter the amount, and review the route before confirming. Never move an asset between networks unless both the sending and receiving side support that exact network.
Solana or Robinhood: which route is easier?
Use Robinhood when the coin is listed and you want a familiar dollar-based order inside a custodial account. Use Fomo or another Solana trading interface when you need to find an onchain token by contract address. Use a self-custody wallet when control of the wallet matters more than account recovery and simplicity.
- Robinhood app — simplest for supported listed crypto; no seed phrase to manage.
- Fomo Family — simple multi-chain search and trading for onchain tokens.
- Phantom — direct self-custody Solana swaps with the wallet controlling the assets.
- Robinhood Wallet — self-custody route that supports Solana, subject to available swap routes.
The ten-second safety check
Before submitting any memecoin order, stop long enough to verify what will actually execute. A familiar ticker, logo, influencer post, or green chart is not proof that you found the correct or sellable token.
- The asset and network are exactly what you intended.
- For an onchain token, the full contract address matches your source.
- Liquidity and estimated price impact are reasonable for your order.
- You know the maximum amount you are prepared to lose.
- You have a sell plan and enough network balance to execute it.
How to sell the memecoin
Selling is the reverse of buying. In Fomo, Phantom or Robinhood Wallet, open the exact token, choose Sell or Swap, select what you want to receive, and review the quote. In the Robinhood app, open the supported crypto, choose Sell, enter the amount, review and submit.
A chart touching 2x is not the same as realizing a 2x return. Slippage, fees, execution delay, liquidity and the size actually sold determine the result that reaches your account.
Can you buy any Solana memecoin on Robinhood?
No. The custodial Robinhood app supports a defined and changing list of cryptocurrencies. Robinhood Wallet may provide onchain Solana swaps for additional tokens when a supported route exists, but availability is not guaranteed. For a newly launched Solana token, an onchain interface such as Fomo or Phantom is normally the relevant route.
